Another year of great family
entertainment has come and gone. 2008 brought
many firsts at Tastin' n Racin'. First
time Turbine Unlimited Hydroplanes have run on
Lake Sammamish, first time vintage and turbine
Unlimiteds have run together, side by side in any
water ever and first time hydroplane fans of all
classes could share theri enthusiam and love of
the sport with all classes of hydroplanes at one
setting in the region! It was the excitement of the
boat racing community of 2008, that brought
40,000+ spectators to the shores of Lake Sammamish
State Park enjoying the thrill of deck-to-deck
boat racing. Our Regatta, one of the largest on
the West Coast, brings together everything from
the Unlimited Hydros in exhibition to a full line
of Inboard hydroplanes and flatbottom runabouts,
vintage restored hydros and the PWC (jet ski)
racing sharing the waters of Lake Sammamish from
10am - 6pm!! It was the excitement of having the
Unlimiteds and the increased activity on the shore
that brought new excitement to this early summer
festival! We invite you to take this opportunity
to benefit from the media and public exposure of
sponsoring this years Tastin' n Racin'...
plus, while having a great time!!
We continually work on our show to make it the
biggest and best. This year we added a Motorcycle
Pledge ride, benefiting the MAX Foundation and a
Hot Boat and Bike show! and of curse the Unlimited
Hydroplanes, both vintage and Turbine! That means,
there are two days full of non-stop action and
something for everyone! So, don't miss your
chance to jump on board and take this opportunity
to support this exciting Eastside tradition and
enjoy the publicity and media attention a festival
of this magnitude receives, for a price that is
very reasonable. Tastin' n Racin'
offers many levels of sponsorship opportunities
for this great and growing festival. Everything
from headlining title sponsor, sponsorship of an
area (ie: Main Stage, Family Area) and associate
sponsors. We even offer Class Sponsorship for the
various classes racing in the Regatta.
Sponsored and promoted by KZOK,
the Seattle Times and associated
papers to name a few (see
media page), our promotion package is
extensive. Examples of some of the media press are
on the Media page of this site. If you live in
the Seattle/Eastside area, you know about
Tastin' n Racin'. Over the years, we have
enjoyed and endured a wide range of weather,
everything from a perfect 75 degree sunshine, or
rain and hail, and even 92 degree heat and
sunshine. The variety of weather does not seem to
shut us down, the crowds still come no matter what
the weather is doing outside. 2008 weather was
cool and cloudy and the crowds still came out for
the event!! We must be on the right track!!

75% of the population in the 18-64 target age group. Lake Sammamish State Park is adjacent to I-90 and is also just 14 miles east of greater Seattle via I-90. Lake Sammamish State Park is the 2nd largest State Park in the State of Washington with over 2,500 parking spaces alone, thus providing plenty of room for this event to grow in the years to come!
